Imagine my surprise this morning when reading a hard news story about the Memphis bomber on the CNN website on my phone when I came across the below ad for crotchless panties. My first impression of the ad was “wow, great shoes!” and then “wow, great curves!” and then “umm… are those crotchless panties on the CNN website? Wow, just wow!”

Over the holiday season CNN has been peppered with similar ads that show women in a variety of “naughty but nice” poses, some wearing Christmas-themed bootylicious pajamas with their butt facing the camera sending the unmistakable “Hey Santa, come sleigh me” message. Now I’m no prude and I appreciate a cute butt just like the next CNN reader but there is a place for everything and embedded in a hard news suicide bomber story is not the place for crotchless panties. And it is arguable that a serious news outlet like CNN should host this type of advertisement at all.

Before the 2020 shit storm started I had decided that this was a year to not be a sucker to clickbait. After 361 days of mostly successful restraint I decided to go down the rabbit hole. Not surprisingly the hole was pretty shallow. One click got me here…
